Dongyan is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) team at Meta. She received her PhD from McGill University and Mila (Quebec AI Institute), supervised by Blake Richards, where she studied the intersection of neuroscience and artificial intelligence. Her current research focuses on understanding and improving how AI systems learn multimodal representations, drawing inspiration from principles of biological intelligence, with recent work spanning vision-language models, causal reasoning in language agents, and representation learning.
